I’m a retired (23 years) USAF linguist, and also a retired (15 years) computer programmer from the banking industry. Now I’m simply “retired” and I love it, although growing old isn’t all that much fun. I had a Universal M-300 40 watt laser for 15 years, and it’s pretty worn out now, but will still outperform anything Glowforge has made. Sorry I ever bought one. Am trying to get the GF to perform at an acceptable level, and am trying to refurbish my old M-300.
